On Thursday evening, three of our Senior Debating Teams competed in the first debate in the Canterbury Schools Debating Competition.
Our teams debated two different moots – that ‘This House would introduce quotas in the NZ Police for race and gender’, and that ‘This House would arm the NZ Police’ – both fairly polarising topics.
Congratulations to Daniel Van der Werf, Sean Spollen and Finn Lepper for winning their debate against Cashmere High School. All of our debaters – including Thomas Richards, Liam Speechley, Hunter Heath, Isaiah Pridmore, Robbie Lanb, and Liam Hulme – performed incredibly well. Great work lads!
