Working within our Centre of Wellbeing and across the Centre of Enhancement, the role of the Psychologist is to provide effective, efficient and equitable psychological services for the benefit of students, staff and whanau for students who have additional and significant learning, mental health and behavioural needs (including Gifted Education) in accordance with the vision, strategic objectives and policies of St Bede’s College.
The Psychologist will have an in-depth knowledge of human development, learning and behaviour, family and social systems, pedagogy, Ka Hikitia and the NZ Curriculum Framework, assessment, analysis and intervention frameworks, and planning and evaluation processes.
As the College Psychologist you will use these skills to undertake specialist assessments integrating theory and current best practice to develop direct therapeutic interventions to contribute to collaborative interventions and learning and wellbeing programmes for our students. This may include making resourcing recommendations to Senior Management and to develop and provide training for educators and parents where appropriate.
