Senior Prizegiving

Last Monday 14 November, we celebrated our academic prize giving. The criterion for students to be acknowledged at this is as follows:
• Students who have met the Excellence Endorsement criteria
• Students who have met the Merit Endorsement criteria in at least 3 subjects
• Students who are first in a subject
• We also award a Certificate of Attainment to a student who earned an achieved grade in all the unit standards being offered by a Unit Standards course also across 3 subjects.
Certificates not presented on Monday will be mailed home with the final Student Record Sheet before the end of term.

Our Special awards went to the following:-

The Board of Honour prize awarded to the Year 11 student
who received the most top weekly notes certificates in 2011 – Samuel Pitcaithly
The Mrs Smith Cup for Creative Writing – Luke Ransfield
The Fr Gerard Mills Scholarship is awarded to a student who
has contributed to and provided leadership in the cultural life of the College – Matthew Everingham
Board of Honour prize: awarded to the Year 12 student who received the most top weekly notes certificates in 2011 – Matthew Everingham
The Bishop Hanrahan Memorial Cup – Mathew Everingham
The Vernon Griffiths Trophy for Singing – Jordan Toa
The Award for Instrumental Music – Luke Worthington
The Sir Walter Clifford Cup for Debating – Tim Robinson
The Mrs M O’Sullivan Memorial Cup for Dramatic Art – Charlie Bristow
Memorial Cup for Endeavour awarded to a senior student – Thomas Blacklow
The Sean O’Brien Memorial Trophy for outstanding achievement in an individual sport – Shayne Anderson
Sportsman of the Year – The Father Scambary Cup donated by the Parent’s Association - Hagen Schulte

The Diligence Gold Medal presented by the Parent’s Association for the Year 13 student who received the most top weekly notes certificates during the year – Troy Chapman
The Brodie Gold Medal for Religious Knowledge – Joseph Stretch
The Carl Sweeney Memorial Trophy for the best and most generous
use of personal talent is a joint award – Delbert Castillo & Viane Mikalio
The Clayton Cosgrove Cup for Leadership and Service a joint award Joel Tomasi & Joseph Stretch
Blue Riband: The Ignatius O’Boyle Cup and Gold Medal for the best and most generous use of talent in all aspects of school life – Jordan Toa
The JC Colin Trophy for Outstanding contribution to the
Special Character of the college – Charlie Bristow
Proxime Accesit – Runner up to Dux for 2011 is a joint award – Kieran Foote & John Paul Golding
