The St Bede’s PTA hosts the Parents House meetings for Year 9 and new students in February and March each year.

The PTA Annual General Meeting is held at the end of in the College Staffroom date TBA.

St. Bede’s College PTA raises funds by a raffle at the start of the year, selling Entertainment Books during the year and by the annual school fair held at the end of the year jointly with Marian College.

A huge thank you to all the students, staff and parents who participated in someway to make the fair such a
success. We had a fantastic day, not only with the weather, but with the crowd of people that turned up
and enjoyed themselves on such a community based event, which benefits both St Bede’s and Marian
College.
There was a wonderful group of students that gave up their Sunday to assist with putting up the tents,
moving stock from the container to the white elephant tents, getting chairs to sit on, collecting runaway
tennis balls and rugby balls, performed and entertained on the back of a truck – perfectly I may add, and
staff who sold drinks all day, helped out on the bouncy castle, took children on hay rides and may of even
got a wet sponge in their face!!!, then having to put the tents down at the end and clear all the rubbish off1
the cricket pitch!
It was certainly a family affair with many people staying for a couple of hours, lining up to get the first pig
on a spit in a fresh bread roll with apple sauce, to just sitting on the ground or seat watching students from
St Bede’s and Marian College perform, having a Mr Whippy ice cream. If you were lucky enough to get a
lucky dip or one of our famous mystery envelopes, remember they were chosen and wrapped with love
and everyone got a lot more than their money’s worth. Congratulations to all the raffle winners on the day
and also those who got yet another great treat and won an item on the silent auction. There were also
many bargains gained in the white elephant, with people coming back to the tent once they had put their
first purchases into their car. Our cake stall was just outstanding with many people missing out as our
goodies sold very quickly, as did the plants stall. I saw many children with their faces painted, and they
looked beautiful.
Personally I would like to thank all the PTA members from St Bede’s College as they worked tirelessly over
the past 6 months when we first had a meeting to see who would be responsible for a particular area on
the day. Each and every one of you stood up and was accountable for your role on the day and everything
ran smoothly. This is done as we worked as a team.
I am unable to give an exact total right now, but as soon as we have sorted out the expenses I will let
everyone know via the newsletter. (Looking good though!)
Thank you to all the families who donated goodies, vouchers or gave up their time to help on various stalls
as well ‐ without your help out fair would not have been a success.
