Yr 13 Physics
Entry requirements are Level 2 with 18 credits in both Physics and Mathematics, or by teacher recommendation.
The basic physics in Year 12 is extended into new areas. In mechanics, further work on linear motion leads into rotational dynamics, simple harmonic motion and satellite motion. Electrical topics include capacitance, inductance and time-varying currents. Study of Waves introduces interference and Doppler effect. Atomic physics introduce the Bohr model of the atom, quantum effects and the application of the conservation laws to nuclear fusion and fission.
