Yr 13 Chemistry
The relevance of chemistry in everyday life is further developed. Entry requirements are Level 2 Chemistry with 16 credits or by teacher recommendation. You’ll extend your practical skills in chemical analysis, and develop a deeper understanding of: chemical structure, bonding and the periodic table; aqueous solution chemistry; energy changes in chemistry; organic and inorganic substances; oxidation and reduction reactions.
Achievement Objectives at Level 8
Students can:
- Investigate and explain the development of selected chemical processes and their interaction with people and the environment
- Carry our qualitative and quantitative investigations to obtain, interpret, and use a range of chemical information
- Understand and use the central concepts and patterns appropriate to the study of chemistry at this level
