Learning Outcomes.

Students will be able to:

• Recount the story and tradition of St. Bede’s College.
• Recount significant events in the life of Jesus, and religious, political and social groups of that time.
• Make an ordered and practical study of the Church’s seasons and consider the development and current structure of the Mass.
• Identify significant persons and events in the Church’s story from its very beginnings to 800AD.
• Identify significant persons and events in the Church’s story from its beginnings in New Zealand.
• Compare various creation stories and state the truths contained in the Genesis accounts of  Creation.
• Explore the ways in which we experience the mystery of God in our world.
• Develop and understanding of the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.
• Experience, reflect on, and personally evaluate aspects of prayer.

• Creation and Co-Creation
• The Beginnings of the Church in New Zealand
• Recognising Signs of God
• Sacraments of Initiation
• Biblical Studies

With each topic of work there is an assessment.
