Yr 13 Literacy
For students at Year 13 who have not achieved the required literacy standards for University Entrance an opportunity could be offered to do so in 2010.
This course will be known as 13LIT, will take place in the student’s study period. During this time credits will be offered in Unit Standards and Achievement Standards earmarked as fulfilling the literacy requirements. These courses will be short term – in most cases this will be equivalent to 15 periods. Once the literacy credits have been achieved students return to their study periods.
Once the course is confirmed interested students should contact Ms Mullan. The time during the year, the number of standards and the actual standards can be negotiated. Staff will identify some students but any students who believe they will need literacy credits should see Ms Mullan as soon as possible.
