Yr 9 Spanish
As part of the Year 9 language options, Spanish is taught to all new entrants in conjunction with Japanese and Maori in three semesters during the year. Students rotate after twelve weeks of study.
The course offers an introduction to Spanish with the focus being on basic communication skills (speaking, reading, writing and listening). A cultural component is also included.
It is hoped that an interest to study Spanish or another language at Year 10 will result from this course of study.

Students will be able to:
- Listen to and understand spoken language in Spanish in familiar contexts studied in class
- Read and understand written language in Spanish in contexts studied in class
- Write sentences in Spanish in contexts studied in class
- Show an understanding of and write about Spanish culture from a context studied in class
Please note: This course will run subject to sufficient numbers and availability of staffing.
