Yr 11 Japanese
Students who intend to study Japanese language at Year 11 must have successfully completed the Year 10 Japanese course as a pre-requisite. The course builds on the work covered during Years 9 and 10 and assumes competency in both reading and writing the hiragana alphabet. More emphasis is given to learning the katakana alphabet and the manipulation of grammatical structures for communicative purposes.
The topics covered in Year 11 are:

- Classroom and school life
- Weather, times, dates and seasons
- Family and describing others
- Home and daily routine, sports and leisure
- Shopping, eating and drinking
- My town and around
- Travel and tourism
- Health
21 credits towards NCEA Level 1 are available.
