Yr 10 Hauora
The aim of the Year 10 Hauora is to provide students with information that helps them to make informed decisions about using alcohol and tobacco, and skills aimed at helping students act on their decisions.
Hauora is a health philosophy that recognises the fact that an individual must look after their mental and emotional, spiritual, physical and social dimensions of health in order to achieve (total wellbeing) Hauora.
The course addresses issues related to Hauora, tobacco, alcohol.
Year 10 Hauora focuses mainly on the following strands of the Health and Physical Education curriculum:
- Personal growth and development
- Relationships with other people
- Healthy communities and environments
Year 10 Hauora also focuses on the following underlying concepts; mental health, food and nutrition, body care and physical safety.
