Yr 9 Visual Art
This trimester course offers students an overview of art as a subject, by studying a range of art making practices in which to communicate their ideas. An emphasis is on drawing as a central means of study, for the research, development and response to given topics.
Achievement Objectives Level 5 (Yrs 9 & 10)
Students will
- Apply knowledge of elements and principles for a range of art making purposes, using conventions and a variety of techniques, tools, materials, processes and procedures.
- Generate, develop, and refine visual ideas in response to a variety of motivations and a study of selected artists’ works.
- Describe and evaluate how ideas and art making processes are used to communicate meaning in selected objects and images.
- Investigate the relationship between the production of art works and their social context.
