Yr 10 Art Extension
This full year option course is strongly recommended for students who intend studying art as a senior subject. It builds on knowledge gained in the previous year by studying various art making practices, such as drawing, painting, printmaking and includes a theory component “What is art?”
This course is for students who have displayed an above average ability in art.
Achievement Objectives Level 5 (Yrs 9 & 10)
Students will
- Apply knowledge of elements and principles for a range of art making purposes, using conventions and a variety of techniques, tools, materials, processes and procedures.
- Generate, develop, and refine visual ideas in response to a variety of motivations and a study of selected artists’ works.
- Describe and evaluate how ideas and art making processes are used to communicate meaning in selected objects and images.
- Investigate the relationship between the production of art works and their social context.
NB: This course is dependant on sufficient student numbers.
