Yr 9 Music
This trimester course provides an interesting overview of music as a subject by studying a range of topics such as: the orchestra of Beethoven and Metallica, the guitar, music theory, music in television advertising, and creating percussion compositions.
Practical skills are taught by way of classroom singing and basic guitar and keyboard playing.
Achievement Objectives Levels 4 & 5 (Yrs 9 & 10)
Students will:
- Compare and contrast a range of music in relation to their contexts.
- Investigate the purpose and function of music.
- Integrate aural, practical and theoretical skills in understanding and analyzing music.
- Use musical elements, instruments, and technologies to create structured compositions and improvisations and notate them.
- Prepare, rehearse and present performances and reflect on music performances.
