Earthquake Recovery for Businesses
The Old Boy’s Association, in conjunction with the College, have been looking at ways it can support families who have been effected by the recent earthquakes. With a database of over 5000 contacts the Association felt it would like to offer a bureau type service for employment and mentoring.
Employment: Organisations and business seeking labour can place an advertisement in the newsletter. By necessity all that is required is a brief position description and contact details. To place an advert please contact Tina Mckay by email tmckay@stbedes.school.nz; the deadline for placement is 12.00 noon on Thursdays.
Mentoring: Given the problems currently facing some College families the Association would like to set up a mentoring service using the wider Bedean community. The basis of this concept is the donation of skills by way of advice. The range of advice would be diverse and would cover areas such as engineering, insurance, health, construction, retail etc. The Association felt this would be a practical way in which people could help others without incurring significant expense.
A listing of service donors would be published in the newsletter. Those wishing to become involved should contact Tony Murdoch by email tmurdoch@stbedes.school.nz.
