Barbershop quartet win regional finals
Dr Rachael Hawkey, Head of Faculty Arts, St Bede’s College, Thursday 3 June 2010.
On Saturday 26th May, the College’s barbershop quartet Obedeance successfully defended its regional title by once again winning the secondary school competition. Benefitting from over a year’s experience together, the quartet comprising Delbert Castillo, Francis Donaldson, Jordan Toa and Luke Worthington produced a polished performance that impressed the judges and audience alike. The win qualifies the group to attend the national finals in Hamilton in August. Our thanks go to Ms Helen Charlton, ITM singing tutor and Mr Andrew Grieve of the Young Singers in Harmony association for their coaching of the quartet.
