Hockey Turf Opening 21 May
The new $1.3m Polygras Olympia Hockey Turf named “Marist Park at St Bede’s College” was officially opened on Friday 21 May at 9am by Dr Robert Campbell. Dr Campbell is an Old Boy of the College who represented New Zealand in Hockey.
Mr Tony Murdoch, St Bede’s Business Development Manager officiated at the ceremony and addresses were also given by Deputy Mayor, Norm Withers, representing the Christchurch City Council, Mike Knell, Chief Executive of the New Zealand Community Trust, The Rector, Justin Boyle.
Father Mark Walls SM blessed the turf, the hockey turf signage was unveiled and a haka was given by the entire assembly of St Bede’s College Students.

Commenting Justin Boyle said, “The turf has been a major undertaking and as it nears completion we can appreciate its significance to the College and the wider community.”
